Erin Young is a partner in the Charlotte office of Hall Booth Smith. Ms. Young has over 20 years of experience representing healthcare providers, corporations, non-profit organizations, and insurance companies in litigation involving claims of professional negligence and general liability. She also counsels clients in pre-litigation risk management and loss prevention. Before joining HBS, Erin practiced for many years at a boutique defense litigation firm, where she developed and managed all aspects of litigation including investigation, discovery, mediation, pre-trial motions and jury trials. In addition to her vast experience defending professionals in the courtroom, Erin also regularly represents clients in disciplinary proceedings before professional licensing boards. Her list of clients includes doctors, nurses, accountants, attorneys, and other professionals.
Erin also uses her extensive litigation, claims management, and client-relations skills as a Certified Superior Court Mediator to assist litigants with pre-trial resolution of their claims.
Ms. Young received her B.A. in English and Political Science, from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro before obtaining her law degree from The University of North Carolina.
As a breast cancer thriver and survivor, Erin is also committed to charitable efforts focusing on cancer research. Ms. Young was a 2015 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Woman of the Year Candidate and raised over $15,000 towards the effort. Erin was also recognized as a North Carolina Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in 2012 and 2013 and is a past director of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys.
